migrating monarch

We love visitors.

Students, parents… and especially wildlife!

Check out this beautiful visitor darting around the garden this past week.

Kudos to Ms Swisher for capturing this photo of a Monarch on a Zinnia in the school garden this past week :)

We’re lucky that monarchs visit the Bay Area during their long migration.
Now’s the time to look out for them!

(Monarchs)… “usually arrive in late August and September, initially gathering in "bivouac sites" for a few days to a few months - depending on the weather. They move to their over-wintering sites, from October to February, with the onset of colder weather.” www.sfbaywildlife.com
