This garden work day, we’re going to focus on a few maintenance tasks to get the garden off to the right start.

Bird Bath - Anyone have any solar panel experience? Our bird bath doesn’t hold its charge.

Plant Sale at the Spring festival
Friday May 3rd! Annual Plant Sale at the Spring Festival.
Come buy those seedlings your student planted back in March.
All proceeds go straight back in to the garden for more nature learning and garden growth!

Annual Seed Planting Day - RSVP to help
Students will be planting seeds, ready for the Plant Sale at the Spring Social.
GARDEN Work Day - POSTPONED
Join us for a winter clean up and social!
We’ll trim, weed and socialize. Come at 9.30am for coffee and bagels, and we’ll get started by 10am.
☔️ Work Day will be canceled if it rains. We’ll post back on here Saturday night if that’s the case. ☔️
Harvest Festival fun
Join us in the Garden during PTO’s annual Harvest Festival!
It’ll be a taste-bud explosion… Come for Garden Bites, where you’ll get to taste yummy treats inspired by garden ingredients. Plus you’ll be able to taste various apples and honey, who knew there were so many flavor choices?!
Kids will also learn how to protect Monarch butterflies while enjoying the garden in its full Fall glory.

Join us for some fun while we get back in the garden for our first Work Day this school year.
We have some new volunteer faces joining the Campus Ecology and Beautification Team, so let’s give them all a big welcome.
If you want to join us, just turn up - we have some gloves, or bring your own - and don’t forget the kids! We love having them help.

First Day of school : Welcome Coffee
Meet us over coffee!
Our students love visiting the garden, and so will you. We have more fun events, projects and improvements planned this year. Find out how you can get involved - no green fingers necessary.
Join us in the gym after drop off to find out all about the Neil Cummins Hawks’ Garden, among other PTO sponsored school activities and events.

“Garden Celebration” Invitation
Come to the Hawks’ Garden to celebrate what a wonderful year it has been!
We have all achieved so much and would like to celebrate and take some time to enjoy the garden together.
There’ll be treats and drinks and we’ll give a short update on our goals for next year.
We’d also like to say a big THANK YOU to all our hard working volunteers for their dedication and help to beautify the campus and keep the gardens and spaces around campus thriving.
Open to everyone, whether you have volunteered, or not. As always, bring the kids!
Eco-Friendly Garden Tour 2023
Our first Ever… Eco-Friendly Garden Tour at the Hawks’ Garden!
We’re one of the stops on the 2023 Eco-Friendly Garden Tour, run by the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership.
Bring your friends and family to see what the kids have been busy planting. Enjoy all there is to see in our colorful Hawk’s Garden and learn about how we’ve been adding native plants and attracting pollinators to our local area.
Register for a free, self-guided, general admission ticket to all gardens on the tour.
Run by the Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership, The Eco-Friendly Garden Tour is a public outreach and education program that promotes sustainable landscaping practices by showcasing inspiring gardens throughout Sonoma and Marin counties - and we are on the tour!

Plant Sale at the Spring Social!
It’s here again! Come and buy the plants that your kids planted as seeds way back in February, on a rare sunny day.
We’ll have SO MANY plants to choose from: watermelon, sunflowers, squash, dill, peppers, chili, basil…
You name it, the kids planted it.
All proceeds are farmed back in to the Hawks’ Garden for more bountiful beauties in future months.

We’d love your help to prepare for the Spring Social and Plant Sale that’s coming up.
A little help goes a long way and it’s all for such a great cause: more awesome native plants for the school garden.
Potting Up Work afternoon
We need volunteers : Come and help pot Plants for the Plant Sale!
Bring pots if you have them : We need 4 inch and 6 inch pots for Wednesday 4/26 and Saturday 4/29.
Stop by nurseries for donated pots or bring any that you have at home.
This is in preparation for the Plant Sale at the NC Social, where we’ll be selling the plants that the kids planted on Seed Planting Day back in March.
Many hands make light work :) Come along, have fun, make friends. And bring your kids!
