Students helping and journaling in the garden

Take a look at just two of the classes who happened to visit the garden in tandem this sunny week!

Ms Swisher’s 2nd grade class helped tidy up, pick up trash and weed the beds from invasive grasses, in between the planters and under the tables.
Some also got to plant their own seedlings that they’ve been growing in class in to a planter, whilst others scattered carrot seeds.

At the same time, Ms Repo’s 1st grade class came in to journal while exploring the garden. Questions were asked like What can you See? What can you Smell? What can you Hear? We saw some beautiful pencil drawings and some excellent writing of words like Worms, Flowers and Air.

Also happening this week, new Cosmos, Milkweed, Tidy Tips and Zinnia have been planted. Not only do they look beautiful in the sunny garden, but they’re great for the whole garden to bring in extra pollinators for our veggies, herbs and fruit trees!
