Dana Swisher is an IPM Winner

Congratulations Dana Swisher for your amazing work in the Hawks’ Garden!

Our own Ms. Swisher was nominated by July Johnson, Neil Cummins’ parent for the annual IPM award. Dana was selected as a winner by our IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Commission which is part of the Marin County Parks Preservation and Recreation.

Ms. Swisher will be honored at their April 22 commission meeting.

This virtual award ceremony will happen on Zoom. We invite students to attend where they will educate on the civic processes behind the commission and encourage participation from students and the public. Students and parents are also invited to share any thanks or messages of gratitude during our public comment period.

“Dana Swisher is a teacher and Hawks Garden director at Neil Cummins Elementary school in Corte Madera. The school garden and the adjacent restoration site provides place-based learning opportunities to educate students, their families, school staff, and community members about local ecology and integrated pest management practices.”
