Summer Garden Work Day

We hosted a successful summer garden work day at our Hawks’ Garden on July 25th!

Thank you Ms. Swisher for hosting and for the Zamzow’s, Revell’s, Straub’s, Radomile’s and Shambroom’s for all of your amazing help in the garden!

We removed weeds throughout the garden, cut back fennel, picked up trash in and around the garden and the broader campus, and planted native plants to support our pollinator friends.

We harvested cauliflower, carrots, figs, and cherry tomatoes.

As you can see in the pictures below, we have created a thriving environment of fruits, vegetables and flowers. We even have a wonderful bird’s next that hosted a family of baby birds this spring.

We planted basil for Caprese skewers that we will share with our students when they return to the garden in August!
